Barbara Ann Watson

Barbara was born on November 13, 1942 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, and was the daughter to Darrell and Florence (Rose) Burchett. She was employed for many years at K-Mart in the deli, and then she retired at Mansfield General Hospital as a cashier in the cafeteria. Barbara was a faithful member for many years of Gospel Assembly Church and most recently of New Covenant Fellowship. She loved attending and was faithful to take as many family members and neighborhood children with her as she could. Family oriented, Barbara cherished spending time with grandchildren. Her home was a place for making memories and many were made at game nights with family and friends. Barbara always loved having her favorite sweet treats ready for friends and family. She treasured road trips especially to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. A bargain shopper, Barbara was always ready for the next garage sale or thrift store. Barbara loved spending time working in the garden.

Barbara is survived by her children, Barb (Kris) Penhorwood and Raymond (Holly) Watson; her grandchildren, James Watson, Brittany (Kyler) Kingry, Ethan (Cory) Whitaker, Emily Watson, Keely Dudley, Lance Whitaker, Megan (Daniel) Ferguson, and Aliya Watson; her great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Isabella, Amaria, Liam, Asher, Isla, Nala, Theodore, Rhettley, and Cameron; her special grade school friend who is like her sister, Gloria (Tom) Glavic and their daughter, Kathy Glavic; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her late husband and friend, John Watson; her siblings, Wade Stallard, Lovell Stallard, Maxine Elliott, Jackie Rose Gilliam, and Eugene Rose; and her grandson, Davyius Penhorwood.

Family and friends may visit from 1:00-3:00 pm on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm.
