Benny A. Lester

Born Benny Allen Lester on September 7, 1974 in Mansfield to Garry Lester and Mary Mosbey. He graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1992. Employed as a supervisor with Rumpke since 2011. Benny loved all of his drivers as if they were family. Benny A. Lester enjoyed everything about dirt track racing from fabricating race cars to racing. Benny thought of each race car driver as family. He had many friends, was always there to lend a hand if someone needed help getting their race car back on track.

Benny was blessed with one son. Benny truly loved spending time with his son, from going fishing together, watching him play football, to just spending time together. On November 9, 2011 he married Carol Lynn Lester in Mansfield, resided in Galion, Ohio. He was blessed with two step sons, he thought the world of these two boys and raised them as if they were his own. Benny loved spending time with his family. He was the life of every party. Benny always had a way to make people laugh, gave out great hugs and was all in all a great outgoing person.

In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by his son, Christopher A. Lester (Angel Wilson); two step sons, Lucas and Brandon Burks; his father, Garry D. Lester (step mother, Rebecca Lester) of Mansfield; brothers and sisters and their spouses; Lisa (Mike) Price, Jason (Adrienne Husky) Lester, Michael (Lauren Confalone) Lester, Steven Lester, Kristin (Brian) McPeek, Chelsy (Wayne) Svejkovsky, and Alyssa Myers all of Mansfield; grandparents; Posey and Jennie Lester; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother.

The family will receive friends from 4-8pm on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. A funeral celebrating Benny's life will be held at 10am on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Mansfield Cemetery.
