
Bernice Stevens, 74, of Mansfield, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born June 12, 1934, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Allie Lore Bradley. An area homemaker most of her life, she attended Belmont Community Church where she was truly loved and respected. Bernice loved the Lord and enjoyed singing gospel music, spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William Stevens; two daughters, Rosemary David Haycook and Debra Darryl Sargent, all of Lexington; a son, Thomas Nancy Stevens of Mansfield; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren; many nieces and nephews that she cherished; four brothers, Harlon Betty Bradley of Mansfield, Herman Betty Bradley, Harmon Barbara Bradley and Lester Bradley, all of Olive Hill, KY; and two sisters, Lorrie Bradley and Sarah Johnny Caudill of Olive Hill, KY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Sue Stevens; sister, Maxine Conn; and brother, Donnie Ray Bradley.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2008, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Belmont Community Church, 1119 Belmont Ave. with Rev. Gary Lambert and Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
