Bernice Wright

Bernice A. Wright, 86, of Mansfield, died early Saturday morning, January 10, 2015, at her home. She was born March 2, 1928, in Dowell County, West Virginia, one of ten children of the late Judy (McDaniell) and Abraham Helm. She was a member of the East Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.

Bernice was an area homemaker most of her life and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed sewing and gardening but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Mark (Lisa) Calloway, Darlene (Anthony) Harris, Kim (William) Lewis, Rodney (Crystal) Wright, all of Mansfield; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; four sisters, Hazel Carroll of WV, Beulah Petty, Freda Thomas and Edith Reid, all of Mansfield; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernell Wright; three brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Elder John Davis. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
