

Bertha Adkins, age 89, of 360 James Ave. died Sunday morning following an extended illness. She was at the home of her son when she went to be with the Lord. Mrs. Adkins was born August 13, 1913 in Glen Hayes, West Virginia. Mrs. Adkins was associated with the Word of Faith Church and was a loving mother, grand, great-grand and great great-grandmother. She loved playing bingo and spending time with her family.
She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law Charles E. and Fredia Adkins, John B. 'Bill' and Flora Adkins and Beecher G. and Judy Adkins all of Mansfield and Daniel L. and Betty Adkins of Delphos, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren; forty six great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one brother Ray Isaac of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three sisters Virginia Fannin, Elizabeth Smith and Gladys Hunt all of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965, Jonah Adkins; an infant daughter; her parents William and Hattie Isaac; two sisters and five brothers.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by her pastor Buddy Barrows. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
