Bessie Mae Yoakam Wagner, 98, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Altercare of Wadsworth Center. She was born June 30, 1913 in Akron, Ohio to the late George and Bessie (Guerne) Yoakam and lived in the Mansfield area most of her life.
Bessie was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, Class of 1930. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and the Autumn Club. Bessie retired as secretary from the Star Rubber Co. after 33 years of service.
She is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas; two brothers, George and Donald Yoakam; and two sisters, Marie Deschner and Charlene Yoakam.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. Pastor Gary Miller will conduct the service. Friends and family may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial in Mansfield Memorial Park will follow the service.
