Betty was an excellent homemaker and loved more than anything to care for and nurture her family. She was a superior cook, and her family especially loved her full course meals of chicken and dumplings with cornbread and a special dessert. Betty had a love for quilting, and she also could create the most beautiful and well kept gardens. She accepted the Lord into her life in 1967 and was a faithful member of the Stiving Road Freewill Baptist Church.
Betty is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Aaron Arnett of Mansfield; her children, Jeff (Danielle) Arnett of Mansfield, David (Valerie) Arnett of Nashville, Tennessee and Vicky Arnett of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Devin, Jaydan, and Jaycob Arnett, Jessica (Carl) Riehn, Brittany Hanlin, and David Jr. (Ashley) Arnett; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Julie) Gilliam of Indiana; one sister, Geraldine "Totsie" Howard of West Virginia; her beloved African Grey Parrot, Alex; and a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her two brothers, Homer and Lovell Gilliam; and her five sisters, Ruby, Gertie, Lorrine, Genieval, and Louise.
