Betty was employed as a long distance operator before marrying Joseph Childs in 1950. They moved to the Mansfield area and after raising her family, she returned to work at Lazarus until she retired. She belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church in Crestline and the Order of Eastern Star Ruth Chapter #17, both for over fifty years. She enjoyed many winters in Florida and bingo with friends. She was always happy and will be remembered for her smile and laugh.
