Betty Cornell

Betty J. Cornell, 82, is now present with the Lord and Saviour. Betty passed away quietly with her children present on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, after a brief illness. Born on August 13, 1927, to Ray and Helen Gantz Clinage and lived in Mansfield all of her life. Betty will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed serving, cooking, and spending time with her family. She attended St. John's United Church of Christ. Betty enjoyed spending time in the company of her dog, Hollywood.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Kenny Debbie Cornell, Tim Claudette Cornell, Linda Dick Ward, and Joyce Allan Hamilton; six grandchildren, David Marcie Hamilton, Mike Kristy Hamilton, Tim Sadana Cornell, Kenny Ashley Cornell, Cody Cornell and Becky Perrine; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Gene; their beloved dog, Maggie; three sisters, Helen Jaynes, Maxine Kitts and Virginia Randolph; four brothers, Jim, Harold "Tully", Bill and Chuck Clinage; and one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Cornell.

There will be no visitation or funeral services. A private family graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Gretchen Wagner of St. John's United Church of Christ. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice or the Humane Society of Richland County. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Mrs. Cornell.
