
Betty J. Curry, 81, of Mansfield, died Tuesday evening, June 26, 2007 at Mifflin Care Center after an extended illness. Born July 2, 1925 in Medina, to Joseph and Tilva Miller Green. She was a Mansfield area resident her entire life. She graduated from Union Rural High School in 1944. Betty worked many years as a waitress at Leland Hotel, Westbrook Country Club, Lex Lounge and ultimately became the co-owner and operator of Curry's Tavern. She was a member of the Daughters of Herman. She enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, George Curry; three sons, Glenn Curry of Sandusky, Ronald Curry of Abilene, Texas, and Tom Linda Curry of Mansfield; seven grandchildren; special grandchildren, Kacey and Tracey; four great-grandchildren; sister, Dolly Groff of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, sister, Mary Burns and brother, George Green.
Friends may call Friday, June 29 from 7-9 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Northwestern Ohio Chapter, 401 Tomahawk Drive, Maumee, OH 43537.
