
Betty Jane Holmes, 76, passed away surrounded by her family Friday afternoon, August 27, 2010 at her home. Born April 3, 1934 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Marie Brumm Dinger. Betty was previously employed as a prep cook at Famous Recipe Chicken, Shaw Jewelry and Mansfield General Hospital in the laboratory. She was a member of Cook Road Baptist Church. A wonderful baker, Betty was known for her great apple pies. Along with baking, she enjoyed camping and sewing. Betty was a member of A.A.R.P. and the Loudonville Conservative Club.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jack O. Holmes; sons, Gary Denise Holmes of Mansfield and Tim Dee Dee Holmes of Shiloh; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Mike Them of Mansfield, Alice Wilburn of Seattle, WA and Ruth Gene Arnold of Shelby brothers, Robert Sylvia Dinger, Harold friend, Ruth Dinger and Russell Jeannie Dinger, all of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Robert 'Robbie' Orlan Holmes and son, Thomas Holmes.
Friends may visit from 5-8 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Jack Hackworth will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Cook Road Baptist Church, 54 E. Cook Road, Mansfield. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
