Betty Prosser

Betty Lucille Prosser, 84, of Mansfield passed away late Monday evening, December 19, 2011 at her home. Born June 9, 1927 in Shelby, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Powley) Jewett. She was a member of Community Bible Church and enjoyed embroidery, word search and crossword puzzles.

Betty is survived by her four children, Joseph L. (Chaney) Prosser, George (Rita) Prosser, Jay (Amy) Prosser and Melodie (Doanie) Porter, all of Mansfield; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Jane Stevens of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph A. Prosser; second husband, James O. Prosser; daughter, Kathy Lucille Moss; and two sisters, Edna Roush and Dorothy Blackledge.

Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A funeral service conducted by Pastor Joseph Esarey will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
