

Betty Louise Redden, 83, of Mansfield, died Thursday, September 22, 2016 at home following a brief illness. Born March 13, 1933 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Jacob and Ella Pointer (Sayre) Sperzel.
She had worked for Lottie's Restaurant for 8 years and Coney Island on the square for 14 years. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds and had many sugar water feeders in her yard. She also enjoyed Bingo, garage sales and dancing, especially the polka. She had a friendly personality and enjoyed talking to people.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Frank Redden; a son, David Jacobs and his companion, Dave Vego of Elyria; a brother, John Sperzel (Shirley Weiler) of Ashland; a sister, Lorretta Foulks of Mansfield; nephews, Brian Foulks and Ken (Cheryl) Foulks; a niece, Cathy Fackler of Mansfield; and a brother-in-law, Bill (Liz) Redden of Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Betty earned her brave wings like her hummingbirds and with a flutter of a wing it was time for her to soar.
In keeping with Betty's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services at this time.
