
Bettye L. Swank, 70, of Woodville Road died Friday morning, December 6, 2002 at Oak Grove Manor following an extended illness. Mrs. Swank was born July 24, 1932 in Locan, Alabama living in Mississippi for 25 years and moving to Mansfield in August 2002. Bettye was a member of Baptist Oakland Church. She and her late husband, Richard R. Swank, owned and operated Village Inn in Corinth, Mississippi. Bettye was an energetic, independent woman and spent her time as a greeter at WalMart in Corinth, Mississippi.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Gale Wemer of Millfield, Ohio, Debbie and Duane Beckel of Mansfield, and Stephanie and Charlie Clark of Clearwater, Florida; seven grandchildren, Ben, Autumn, Jamie, Jason, Charlotte, Shelly, and Tommy 'T.T.'; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lorene Imon of Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Herman and Liller 'At' Morris Wood; a daughter, Patricia J. Stinson; and a sister, Isabelia Wood.
