
Billy "Willie" Rose, 77, died Sunday, May 22, 2011. He went home to be with his Lord after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family. Born February 14, 1934 in Clintwood, Virginia, he was the son of Stewart Rose and Mae Bise Rose. He loved fishing, hunting, making his own fish bait, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Rose retired from Empire-Detroit Steel in 1988 after 36 years of service.
He is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Ann Clyde Morris and Bonnie Woody Oakley of Mansfield; two sons, Billy Fred Braska Rose of Warsaw, IN and Jerry Vickie Rose of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Sandra, Angie, Marcia, Billy Fred Jr., April and Jerry Jr.; five step grandchildren, Anthony, Nathaniel, Julie, Jackie and Christopher; thirteen great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; one brother, James C. Rose of Knoxville, TN; one sister, Shelby Boggs of Clintwood, VA; and his lifelong fishing friends, Elvia Bob Foreman and Lloyd Jordan. Awaiting his arrival in Heaven are his parents; his loving wife of 56 years, Angelena; son, Garry; grandson, Rev. Kevin Morris; and two brothers, Arlis and Garmon.
Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Paul Staton and Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
