

Bonnie "Jean" Land, 90, of Mansfield, died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Wedgewood Estates. She was born February 6, 1925 to Ralph O. and Mildred (Hosler) Edwards and lived in Ashland and Galion, but spent most of her life in Mansfield. Jean attended Galion High School and after marrying her husband, Frank on April 5, 1946 she enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her children while volunteering her time with the Girl Scouts with her daughters. Jean enjoyed camping at Charles Mill Lake and vacationing with her husband, traveling to every state but Alaska. They also spent a couple years overseas in India and Egypt with Frank's job. Later in life Jean took up crocheting and just enjoyed being a grandma keeping up with everyone's activities.
She is survived by four children, Mick (Cindy) McCune of Mansfield, Terri (Bob) Slessman of Attica, Gala (Dale) Goddard of Bellville and Tonda (Doug) Kelley of SC; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren with one on the way; 5 great-great grandchildren, brother, Robert (Joyce) Edwards; and best friend, Vickie Willis of Washington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Frank" Land on June 6, 2013.
Friends may call Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Phil Green. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of her grandson, Kyle Stone.
