Born on August 18, 1965, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Brian was raised by Agnes and Leon Nunez. A proud father, devoted brother, and cherished friend, Brian’s life was a vibrant tapestry of love, laughter, and authenticity.
He is survived by his beloved son, Travis Prats; his sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Bernard Serigne; his brothers, Kevin Prats and Tony Prats; nieces and nephews, Sherry Prats, Rachel Prats, Kristy Prats, Kami Serigne, Kevin Prats Jr., Chad Prats Sr., Kendal Serigne, and Kirsten Prats; along with numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Brian is also lovingly survived by his Chosen Family—those who stood by him in deep friendship and unconditional love: Deena and Melissa Hamilton (“sister and sister-in-law”), “brothers” Chuck Yosick and David Olar, Dan Dickman and Cliff Edwards, Robert Beatty and George Ramey, and Tim Denis.
He was preceded in death by his parents Agnes and Leon Nunez, siblings Russell Prats and Melissa Anisardi, sister-in-law Jeanette Prats, nephew Russell “Bubba” Prats, honorary brother and dear friend Sam Ramirez, and his beloved life partner of 37 years, Andrew Schoen.
Brian’s proudest role was being a father to Travis. Their bond was unshakable, and their partnership in both life and business was a shining example of love and mutual respect. As a passionate entrepreneur, Brian built his legacy working alongside Travis and his sister Charlotte.
He also found joy in his Texas Roadhouse family, where he was surrounded by Roadies who became lifelong friends. Brian had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel valued, seen, and loved—whether through a kind word, warm smile, or his trademark sense of humor.
In 2021, Brian gave life to his drag persona, Kentellia, bringing his love for performance and people center stage. Kentellia was bold, bright, and beautiful—just like Brian—captivating all who had the joy of knowing her.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Wappner Funeral Home, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield, Ohio. Calling hours will be from 5:00–7:00 p.m., followed by a service at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Dan Dickman.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brian’s memory to Love on a Mission, Peace Fellowship, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, organizations that reflect the love, hope, and generosity that defined his life.
