
Brian Curtis Ricer, 48, of Ashland, died unexpectedly Friday, February 26, 2010, in Polk, Ohio. Born November 11, 1961, in Ashland, he was the son of James and Linda Gantz Ricer. He had worked for National Latex and was a huge fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. A musician, Brian played guitar and was lead singer in many groups, including Vantage, Wake the Dead and Axton. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his life partner, Becky Callahan; two daughters, Stephanie Wallace of Mansfield and Joylynn Brian Cline; two sons, Josh Ricer of Ashland and Beau Ricer of Mansfield; his father, James Carolyn Ricer of Ashland; three step-sons, Jason Callahan, Jordie Callahan and Lucas Callahan; a step-daughter, Nisha Montgomery; four grandchildren and six step-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Stephanie Knowlton, Kathlene Hefner, Keith George, Melissa George, Tina George, Todd George all of Ashland, Mark Ricer of Mansfield, Alan Ricer, Lorna Turner both of Florida and Jack George of Savannah; two half-sisters, Tammy Ricer of Kentucky and Tina O'Berry of Georgia; and two step-brothers, Tim Maust and Tom Maust both of Ashland. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Linda and Louis Pryor; a son, 'BJ' Ricer; and a brother, Francis George, Jr.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Ave., Ashland, OH 44805. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may also call one hour to the funeral services at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
