
Bruce M. Scott, age 80, of 1543 Hickory Lane, died Saturday evening at Oak Grove Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mr. Scott was born December 7, 1921 in Oakville, Ontario CA, and has lived in the Mansfield area most of his life. Mr. Scott had worked at Westinghouse for 40 years, and at Bank One for five years. He attended the Apostolic Christian Church on Middle Bellville Road, and was a licensed pilot who enjoyed flying, gardening, and birds. Mr. Scott was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force serving 4 years in the South Pacific and during the occupancy of Japan.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Scott, whom he married April 4, 1942; one daughter and son-in-law, Paulette & Dan Smith of Mansfield; two sons, Thomas Scott of Lucas, and Stephen Scott of Coconut Grove, FL; six grandchildren, Kimberly, Carrie, Matthew, Nicole, Andrew, and Abigail; five great-grandchildren, Sydney, Kelsee, Emma, Ava Marie, and Drew; one brother, James Scott of Lakeworth, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Ada Scott; six brothers, Charles Glass, Fred Scott Jr., Percy, Arthur, Granville, and Joe Scott; and four sisters, Mabel Gaston, Evelyn Barry, Florence Newlon, and Elizabeth Glass.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., conducted by George Freund. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park where there will be Military Services. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Ohio Parkinson Foundation or the North Central Ohio Alzheimer's Association.
