

Bryte Bowen, age 97, of Mansfield, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, from natural causes. Bryte was born on May 30, 1923 in Monongah, West Virginia, to the late Mossie and Jesse Jackson.
Bryte was a member of the Ashland Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses where she enjoyed teaching the Bible and was an advocate for education. A loving mother of eight children, she was well known to the Mansfield community as "Mother Bowen". Bryte kept her house looking immaculate and was a wonderful cook.
Bryte is survived by three daughters, I. Lenore Melton of Mansfield, Beatrice Bowen of Albany Georgia and Lucille Bryte Ringold of Mansfield; son, Robert Bowen of Seattle, Washington; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mathais Bowen of Mansfield; two sons, Roger Matthews Bowen of Jackson, Michigan and Napoleon Bowen of Oakland California; and two daughters, Lovonia Bowen of Mansfield and Deloris Pearl McKinley of Cleveland.
A private burial service will be held for the family. There will be a celebration of life service by zoom call on August 1, 2020 beginning at 2:00 p.m. Both services will be officiated by Joe Kuvasek.
