Carl H. Yeager, 69, of 857 North Stewart Road, passed away Saturday morning at Riverside Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Yeager was born August 9, 1930 in Mt Vernon, Ohio and has been a area resident most of his life. Mr. Yeager was retired after 42 years with the Ohio Brass as a manufacturing engineer and also worked at Weidner Pontiac. Mr. Yeager attended Mayflower United Church of Christ and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1951 to 1953 he also enjoyed walleye and bass fishing in Lake Erie with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Hill Yeager of Mansfield, one son and daughter-in-law, Carl H. and Rise Yeager, Jr. of Shelby, Ohio, one daughter and son-in-law, Jenny L and Darrell Lewis of Butler, Ohio, one brother, Jerry Yeager of Mansfield, Ohio ; six grandchildren, Stacy Yeager of Columbus, OH, Robert Yeager of Ft. Sill, OK, Patrick Yeager of Shelby, OH, Carla Yeager of Mansfield , OH, Dannielle Lewis of Columbus, OH and Christopher Lewis of Butler, OH: three step-grandchildren, Sahra, Jill and Logan Davis of Lucas, OH, four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry H. and Bertha E. Harvey Yeager, three brothers, Ron, Bob and Tom Yeager, one grandson, Brett M. Yeager.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 21, 2000 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mayflower United Church of Christ on McElroy Rd and one hour prior to funeral services. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 22, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Dr. Gary Wilson. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park were military services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mayflower United Church of Christ. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors are handling arrangements.
