Carol Jones

Carol Madeline Jones, 58, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born November 17, 1947, in Mansfield, the daughter of John and Muriel Childs Jones. A 1965 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, she was employed at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital as a nurse auditor and had worked as an LPN at Peoples Hospital for many years. Carol was an animal lover who enjoyed science fiction conventions and reading.

She is survived by her mother, Muriel Jones of Mansfield; sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Steven Fike of Mansfield; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Gary and Linda Jones and John Jones, all of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special pet, Kaz. She was preceded in death by her father and great-nephew, Chaydon.

Funeral services will be held at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Friday, September 1 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Pentti J. Maki officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Richland County Humane Society.
