Carolynn Lee West Conners Touby, 64, of Mansfield died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. She was born February 15, 1943 in Fairmont, West Virginia. Carolynn attended Mansfield City Schools and worked at Westinghouse Corp. during the 1970s. Until her illness, she was the Assistant Director at Bible Walk. Although her illness slowed her down physically, it did not dampen her spirit and she will forever be remembered for her laughter, special smiles and hugs and the care she showed to others. She enjoyed making ceramics-giving away most of her work-and working in her garden and flowers. Most of all, her family was her love. She attended Diamond Hill Cathedral. Carolynn was a beautiful person, inside and out, and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. They all take comfort in the certainty that she is not in pain, but rejoicing with Jesus, knowing this is not goodbye, but they will see her again.
She is survived by her significant other and helpmate, Ernie Anderson; son, Thomas Alana Conners of Galion; daughter, Jacque Conners of St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Ashley Conners, Dustin Conners and Charise Ward; great-grandchildren, Natasia, Jaleel and Adelene; two brothers, Toby Claudia Ice of Mansfield and John Pam West of Bellville; sister, Patricia Ed Toothman of Fairmont, WV; aunt and uncle, Christine Corwin of Ontario and Wells Gorman of Arizona; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and lifetime friends, Norma Frank Grillo, Vera Larry Heller, Judy Jim Moore and Shelly Lacey. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Geib, brother, Thomas H. Ice and nephew, Nicholous West.
Friends may call Wednesday, May 2 from 5-8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Richard Diamond will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with calling from 12-1 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
