Cassie L. Crawford

Cassie Lee (McAfee) Crawford, 87, formerly of Mansfield, OH passed away on Monday June 27, 2016 at the Winchester Nursing Facility. She was born in Dawson, GA on June 6, 1929 to Clarence and Cora Lee McAfee.

Cassie worked as a housekeeper and nanny for over 20 years. She loved to talk and had an infectious laugh. Her life revolved around family and friends.

Cassie is survived by one son and two daughters, Jimmie L. (Renee) Crawford, Barbara A. Crawford and Nadine (James) Parker all of Mansfield, OH; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cassie was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Lee Crawford; her parents; daughters, Stephanie Crawford and Marilyn Hawkins; 3 sisters and two brothers; and grandson, Stephen G. Crawford.

The Crawford family extends thanks to the staff at Winchester Terrace, as well as the expanded team of medical doctors, social services, etc. for their assistance over the last few years in their efforts to make her as comfortable as possible.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Friday, July 1, 2016 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. A service officiated by Rev. Gregory Barber, will follow at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association to support the fight against stroke, a debilitating disease which Cassie was subjected to.
