Charles was a graduate of Union High School and worked as a Sheet Metal Worker and union agent with Local 33. He was a member of Trinity Grace Fellowship, formerly Trinity United Methodist Church. He enjoyed restoring antique Ford automobiles and was a collector of automobilia gas and oil cans. He was a member of Shellman Model-A Club and loved taking rides in his Model-A cars.
He is survived by his son, Charles Scott Bowman; his daughter, Beth (Steve) Vipperman; his grandchildren, Taylor Bowman, Alexandra Bowman, Seth (Lydia) Vipperman, and Brooke Vipperman; his brother, Larry (Shirley) Bowman; and sister, Patricia (Steve) Hammond.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. and Lois Bowman; his wife, Frances Rae Bowman; and his brother, Gary Bowman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, Ohio 44902 conducted by Pastor Larry Carnes. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 pm. He will be laid to rest in Pavonia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601.
