

Charles A. "Willie" Day, 65, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly at home of natural causes Monday afternoon, November 2, 2015. He was born June 24, 1950, in Mansfield, Ohio, and was an area resident his entire life.
Charles attended Madison High School and veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. A very detailed and determined man, he was never shy about sharing his opinion. He was a hard worker who had meticulous standards and never had a customer complaint at his business, Final Touch Detail Shop. Charles was always helping others and was the go-to Mr. Fix It for all his friends and family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. His family will treasure the example he set as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
On May 22, 1980, he married Shirley Smith Perkins and they shared over 35 years of marriage. He is also survived by three children, Christine Perkins-Sanderfer, Carrie (Jesse) Horner and Dustin (Kacie) Day; nine grandchildren, Justin, Logan, Caleb and Caitlin Perkins, Alexis Sprague, Natalie Day, Mason Jacobs, and Keirsten and Lily Sanderfer; and a daughter-in-law, Theresa Perkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Allen Day and Marjorie Marie Pocock Day; son, Brent Perkins; and brother, Glenn Day.
Honoring Charles' wishes there will be no visitation or services. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
