Charles H. Gill, 90, of Mansfield, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Mifflin Care Center. Born June 10, 1918, in Caldwell, Ohio, he was the son of Henry and Rose Kent Gill. Charles retired from Mansfield Tire and Rubber Company after 33 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Charles was a member of the Mansfield Tire 25-year Club, Mid Ohio Sports Car Club and 15-year member of the Columbus Bible Students.
He is survived by a number of cousins and special friends, Ellen Shultz and Harry Fellure. He was preceded in death by his wives, Marie, Naomi and Bernice and his parents.
Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009, in Mansfield Cemetery with Pastor Todd Alexander of Lewis Center officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Mr. Gill.
