
Charles Richard Harding, 85, formerly of Mansfield, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010, at Highland Center in Brackenridge, PA. Born March 4, 1925, in Mansfield, he was the son of Charles and Margaret Keeling Harding. A veteran of World War II serving with the United States Navy, Mr. Harding retired from Westinghouse and Sears. He was a caring and sweet guy who could also be very stubborn and was a great storyteller who loved to tell jokes. An animal lover, he enjoyed his family pets over the years and also enjoyed to cook.
Surviving are two sons, Michael R. Kathleen Harding of New Kensington, PA and Mark Harding of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Anson Kelly Harding and Logan Harding both of New Kensington, PA and Delaine Scott Rhea of Mansfield; five great grandchildren, Alexandra, Anson, Jr., Anna, Aubrey and Ava; a brother, Joseph Harding of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Beatrice Yohn of Amherst, OH and Edith Wisenberger of Mansfield; a sister-in-law, Helen Kurbad of Mansfield; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 ½ years, Doris Elaine Kurbad Harding; three sisters, Dora, Mildred and Jenette; and three brothers-in-law, Paul, Clayton and Dean Kurbad.
Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2010, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park with full military services conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
