Charles “Chuck” Edward Hatfield, age 76, of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at The Waterford, Mansfield. He was born December 24, 1948, in Mansfield, Ohio, to William and Mary (Nagel) Hatfield.
Chuck was a welder with Local Union 42 in Norwalk. He had a passion for racing, competing in sprint cars as well as short-track events. Outside of racing, he loved boating and water skiing. Chuck was highly mechanically inclined. He enjoyed everything about old cars. Chuck tinkered them to death. Chuck was always working on a new project. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and beloved dog, Gypsy.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Hatfield; daughter, Laurie (Ray) Cosner; stepsons, Derek Gottfried, Troy (Kate) Gottfried, and Drew (Kristine) Gottfried; sisters, Barb (Stan) Popp; brother, Bob (Rita) Hatfield, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kevin (Shirley) Kirkendall; and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.
