
Charles I. Peters, age 80, of 630 Oak St., died March 9, 2000 at MedCentral Mansfield after a brief illness. Mr. Peters was born October 9, 1919 in West Virginia and has been a Mansfield resident most of his life. He was owner and operator of Alarm Service Company. He was a member of the VFW post #3494 and a veteran in the U.S. Army serving during WWII. Surviving are his wife, Betty Peters of Mansfield, Ohio, three daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Floyd French of Mansfield, Wanda and Mike Thompson of Mansfield, Brenda and Doug Arter of Milan, Ohio; two sons and daughter-in-law, Donald Peters of Mansfield, Ohio and Charles and Trish Peters, Jr. of Newark, Delaware; a sister, Esther of Arizona; two brothers, Nelson Peters of Butler, Ohio and Loren Peters of Lexington, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and close family friend, Debbie Myers of Mansfield, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Sadie Nelson Peters; a sister, Edith; a brother, Blaine and a granddaughter, Amanda French. Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Sunday, March 12, 2000 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral services are at the Diamond Street Home on Monday at 10:30 am conducted by Pastor Jerry Rhea. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery with Military Graveside Services. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home in his name.
