Charles Spears Jr., 78, of Mansfield, died Saturday evening, March 22, 2014 at Kindred Hospital. He was born November 8, 1935 in Collierville, Tennessee to the late Charles Spears, Sr. and Emma Fields.
He is survived by a son, Demmy Spears; nephew, Luther "Leon" Spears of Mansfield; niece, Gloria (Gregory) Pegues of Columbus; nephew, Marcus (Katie) Spears of Mansfield; niece, Kay (Ricky) Spears of Memphis, TN; nephew, Nathan (Karen) Johnson of Columbus; five great-nieces and nephews, Dawn Spears of Little Rock, AR, Larry Strong of Columbus, Tamikee, Arcenio and Sada' White, all of Memphis, TN; and a brother, Kareem Abu-Assim of Knoxville, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Spears; and two sisters, Ethel Spears and Margaret Bowie.
