
Charlotte M. Stehle, 84, of Mansfield, died Friday evening, July 21, 2006, at Mifflin Care Center. She was an incredible example of courage during the last year of her life. Born November 7, 1921, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruby Marmet Stomps. Mrs. Stehle was an avid gardener. She was self-employed as a seamstress for 30 years doing custom embroidery for area school's athletic uniforms and student's letter jackets. She also made custom draperies for J.C. Penney.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel J. and Sue Stehle, Jr. of Forsythe, Mo.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia Kay and Kenneth Wagner of York, S.C., Charlotte and David Graham of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Rebecca and Aaron Polburn of Ashland; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Bobbie Stomps of Columbus; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nadine Kareff and Betty and John Todd, all of Mansfield; and nine nieces and nephews. Daniel J. Stehle, her husband of 63 years, preceded her in death.
A memorial service in celebration of Charlotte's life will be held Friday, July 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, with Rev. Bruce Wilkinson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Pump House Ministries or a charity of the donor's choice.
