Christine R. Lukkarila

She graduated from Malabar High School in 1971 and received her Associate Degree from North Central Technical College. Christine was employed at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital as a registrar. On May 8, 1987, she married Rolf "Luke" Lukkarila and they were members of North Woodbury Alliance Church. Her faith was the foundation upon which she lived her life. Christine and her husband traveled to Haiti for 7 years serving as missionaries. She volunteered as a Sunday school teacher and worked in the church nursery for many years. Family was very important to her and, when her son was young, she served as a den mother for his Boy Scout Troop. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, scrap booking, gardening, and bird watching.

Christine is survived by her husband of 29 years, Luke Lukkarila; children, Aimee (Michael) Nardone of Westerville, OH and Nicholas Lukkarila (fiancée, Courtney VanMeter) of Reynoldsburg, OH; three grandchildren, Gabriel, Gavin and Graycen Nardone of Westerville; mother, Shirley A. Wright of Mansfield; father, Gene A. (Lois) Morello of Niles; two sisters, Barbara Morello (Christopher Kuhn) and Diane Moleno, both of Mansfield; two half brothers, Richard Morello of Akron, OH, and Brian (Jolene) Morello of Niles; two half sisters, Lori (Jerry) Davis and Colleen (David) Lemming, both of Mansfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her step father, Clyde Wright; step sister, Michelle Wright; and nephew, Nathan Brauchler.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield.
