
Coletta June Varner Kuhn passed to her eternal reward on Sunday, September, 27, 2009 surrounded by her cherished family. She was born June 12, 1926 to Henry Butler Varner and Dora Magdaline Keller Varner. She married Ladd Ross Kuhn on July 2, 1945 and resided in Franklin Township the rest of her life. An avid letter writer, she loved to correspond with friends through cards and letters. She kept a farm and family journal for over 40 years. Coletta served as secretary for her church, Richland Church of the Brethren, her Tops Group in Shelby, and her AARP Chapter. She worked at Dominion, National Ring, Reed's, Lazarus, and McDonalds. She loved her family and told everyone she not only had three good sons, but three good daughters-in-law. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. She loved having everyone together for Saturday night card games.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Charlene Kuhn, Samuel "Steve" and Linda Kuhn, and Rex and Jan Kuhn; six grandchildren, Wesley Sondra Kuhn, Dora Christine Kuhn, Samuel Brent Sara Kuhn, Mathew Mindy Kuhn, Timothy Kelly Kuhn, and Dr. Joseph Cathy Kuhn; nine great-grandchildren, Trevor, Taylor, Ross, Tessa, Faith, Hayden, Cameron, Liam, and Zoe; brother, Calvin Helen Zika Varner; sisters-in-law, Donna Kuhn Walter, and Frances Kuhn; her close friend and companion, Robert Baker and his family; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers-in-law, David and Arthur Kuhn; and sisters-in-law, Zola Varner and Carolyn Varner. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Crystal Care Center, MedCentral Shelby Hospital, Hospice of North Central Ohio, and Dr. Ajay Chawla for their wonderful care throughout Coletta's illness. She appreciated and loved all of you.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 30. 2009 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Jim Rowsey. Burial will follow in Harmony Baptist Cemetery at the Kuhn Farm. Memorial contributions may be made to Richland Church of the Brethren or the Alzheimer's Association.
