

Dakota Faye Critchfield, age 67, of Fredericktown, passed away early Friday morning, January 11, 2013 at Knox Community Hospital. She was born June 3, 1945 in Somerset, KY to Alpha and Daisy (VanHook) Brinson.
She was very outgoing, and enjoyed bowling and playing Bingo. Dakota was an avid Elvis Presley fan. She developed a love of traveling, having traveled all over the world with her husband, David, while he was in the military, and fulfilling her personality as a people person. She lived in Fredericktown since 1990. Dakota was a very devoted wife and mother and took excellent care of her entire family. Everyone, especially her grandchildren, enjoyed her wonderful baking and attention she gave to them.
She is survived by her children, Sam (Yvonne) Critchfield, David (Tammy) Critchfield, Rebecca Critchfield; mother, Daisy Brinson; grandchildren, Amber Ridgeway, Brittany Critchfield, Herschel Critchfield, Brianna Wilson, Cheyanne Critchfield, Johnnathan Critchfield, Jason Critchfield, Doug Critchfield, Jr. and Cameron Critchfield; and four great-grandchildren, Kaylib, Dillon, Kegan and Christian. She was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Critchfield, Sr.; father, Alpha Brinson; and mother-in-law and father-in-law.
Friends and family may visit from 2-5 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Keith Bohley of Fredericktown United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Mansfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
