
Dale Gorby, 102, of 1200 Marshall Court in Eustis, Florida died Sunday evening March 12, 2000 in the Ruleme Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Gorby was born March 20, 1897 in Rawson, Ohio and resided in the Mansfield area for 46 years then moving on to Florida. She was a schoolteacher and administrator in Madison Township, serving as principal of the Woodville Elementary School from 1947 to 1970. Mrs. Gorby was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, the Richland County Retired Teachers, P.T.A. and Hospice. Surviving are her daughter & son-in-law, Camilla & David Rosenberger of Eustis, Florida; two granddaughters, Ellen Woodard of Portland, Oregon & DaLee Rosenberger of Tavares, Florida; two great-granddaughters; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Hughes of Mansfield; and a cousin, Esther Fry of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Porter S. & Zoe Anna Falk Hughes; two brothers, Lawrence & Lloyd Hughes; and two sisters, Inez Wolf & Sylvia Kille. Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday March 19, 2000 from 7-8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Main St. United Methodist Church Monday March 20, 2000 at 10:00 a.m., conducted by Rev. David Gilbert. Burial will be in Tawa Cemetery in Rawson, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Main St. United Methodist Church.
