Despite life’s challenges, Dan never wavered in his love for his family and his commitment to living a life which pointed others to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a true role model, a devoted husband to his wife Irene, a loving father, and a wonderful grandfather.
Dan's positivity and resilience in the face of adversity were an inspiration to everyone he met. He could always be counted on by his family for literally anything they needed, and his genuine concern for others was unmatched. Dan enjoyed every minute he could get studying or listening to the word of God.
A few of his favorite preachers included Adrian Rogers, Charles Stanley, and Oliver B. Green. A handyman with knowledge in just about everything, Dan collected tools and books. He was a fan of Folgers black coffee and enjoyed telling stories of the time he spent playing paintball.
Before retirement he previously worked as a Mason, followed by a job at General Motors as a Tool and Die Maker.
Dan is survived by his wife Irene Atwell; three sons Jason (Amare) Atwell, Joshua (Donna) Atwell, and Christopher Atwell; nine grandchildren and three great grandkids. In addition to five siblings; Debbie Thompson, Judy Beal, John Atwell, Jeannie James, and Mark Atwell. As well as other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn M Atwell and a brother Timothy Atwell.
