
Daniel Arthur Carter, 77, of Crestline, died Friday, October 20, 2006 at his home. Born December 6, 1928 in Malden, West Virginia, he was the son of Daniel Law and Fawn Marvel Snead Carter. He was the owner/operator of Dan Carter and Son Plumbing and Heating for 54 years and a member of the Plumber Association of Mansfield. Mr. Carter was a member of Southview Baptist Church in Galion. He was also a member of the Venus Lodge, 32nd Degree Mason and Baku Grotto. Mr. Carter served as a police officer in Crestline and a Sheriffs Deputy in Richland County.
He is survived by one daughter, Emma Carter of Burbank, California; one son, Dan Carter, Jr. of Crestline; one grandson, Jeff Sheehan of California; one sister, Bea Laughorn of Mansfield; one brother, John Carter of Charleston, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jeane Carter and his parents. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Carter's home health care provider, Roberta Shrewsbury, the hospice nurses, Deb, Brenda, and Mary Lou, the Crestline Fire Department, and the doctors and nurses at the Bucyrus ER.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors with Masonic services at 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor David Cline. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline. Memorial contributions may be made to Southview Baptist Church.
