
Daniel 'Poppa' Knight Fisher, 83, of Galion, died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born July 22, 1924 in Marion, he was the son of Guy Burton and Grace Odessa Campbell Fisher. For many years he was a farmer, baker at Mansfield Bakery, and custodian at H & S Automotive. After retirement, he went on to work part-time at the Ashland Wal-Mart. Dan graduated from Clerden High School. He was an elder in the Jubilee Church and attended CitiChurch. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed dancing at the V.F.W. with his wife, Beverly Kay Robart, whom he married March 8, 1968.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Cheri White, Michael Debbie Burke, all of VA, David Robin Dashkovitz, Claude Hope Byrd, all of Mansfield, Cindy Perkins of MI, Peggy Wood, Daniel Fisher, Guy Fisher, Tim Fisher, Cathy Tharp; sister, Rosella Richardson of Caledonia; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 27 at 6:00 p.m. at CitiChurch with Pastor Micah Pelkey officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
