Darrell E. Gibson

Darrell E. Gibson, 86, of Mansfield, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation Campus. Born August 25, 1933 in Mansfield, he was the son of Clarence Eugene and Mary (Rowan) Gibson.

Darrell was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War and retired from the Federal Government. He was raised in Mansfield and moved to Homestead, Florida where he and his ex wife, Edythe Gibson raised their family. He returned back to the Mansfield area in 1994.

He is survived by his children, Mark Gibson, Mathew Gibson, Katherine Wynn, Guy (Margaret) Gibson and Darren Gibson; grandchildren, Brad, Melissa, Diane, Guy, Rachel, Krissy, Brock, Danielle, Justin, Rylae and Dalton; great grandchildren, Annissa, Audrey, Isabella, Braxton, Braylon, Blain and two more on the way; a sister, Candace Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Gibson; a grandson, Brian Gibson; a great grandson, Brian Ward; and siblings, William Gibson, Robert Gibson, Irene Alspach and Richard Gibson.

A private family viewing will be held at the Wappner Cremation Center.
