
David B. Harmon, 44, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after injuries sustained in an ATV accident. Born May 11, 1964 in Willard, he was the son of Roger D. Harmon, Sr. and Sandra Sparkman Harmon. He worked for R.R. Donnelley and Sons where he was supervisor of the press room. David was a member of the First Church of God. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. In his own words, "I'd rather be riding my bike thinking about God than sitting in church thinking about my bike". David also enjoyed traveling, and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and NASCAR racing.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Beth Steinhour Harmon; son, Joshua Harmon of Shelby; daughter, Megan Harmon of Columbus; father, Roger D. Mary Harmon, Sr. of Willard; mother, Sandra Harmon of North Carolina; mother-in-law, Anna Mel Gibson; brothers, Roger D. Harmon, Jr. of North Carolina, and Daniel Harmon of New Haven; sister, Patricia Souders of North Carolina; brothers-in-law, Kevin Barb Steinhour, and Todd Melody Steinhour; sister-in-law, Kelley Randy Schwertfager; 18 nieces and nephews; and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Homer and Jeanette Sparkman and Dale and Cleota Harmon; and father-in-law, Forrest Jr. Steinhour.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield, Ohio 44906. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 30 at First Church of God, 1756 Park Ave. West, Mansfield, Ohio 44906 conducted by Pastor Jeff Gray and Pastor Larry Collins. Friends may also call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at First Church of God.
