

He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked at Westinghouse. He also worked as a motorcycle funeral escort which he took great pride in. He was a Christian man as well as a simple man. He enjoyed playing music as well as singing and sitting on his deck talking to his neighbors. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandsons and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Cherie Hignite; a son, Denny (Tracy) Hignite of Mansfield; two grandsons, Cody and Caleb Hignite who affectionately called him "Crappa"; a brother, Wendell Hignite of Mansfield; a sister, Libby Farnwalt of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Kochel.
Friends may call from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. A memorial service, conducted by Rev. George Reece, will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home where full military honors will be conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
