
David L. Pittenger, 48, of Evergreen Avenue West died unexpectedly Tuesday morning December 14, 1999 as a result of a trucking accident in Franklin County. Mr. Pittenger was born January 22, 1951 in Mansfield and has resided in the area all of his life. Mr. Pittenger was a member of the Oakland Lutheran Church. He graduated from Crestview High School in 1970 and also attended Pioneer Career and Technology Center. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years and currently was working for Schneider Trucking as a truck driver.
Surviving are his parents, Eldon and Norma Mitchell Pittenger; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim and Dottie Pittenger of Mansfield, Gary and Rose Pittenger of Willard, OH, and Rick and Shelly Pittenger of Mansfield; three nieces; two step-nephews; one step-niece; and numerous aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Clara Young; step-grandmother, Marguerite Pittenger; and great-aunt, Ann Keck.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Friday December 17, 1999 one hour prior to funeral services which will be held at 1:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Lon McSherley. Burial will be held in Franklin Cemetery with military rites.
