

David P. Starr, 50, of Mansfield, OH died Sunday morning October 3, 2004 at OSU Medical Center, Columbus following a brief illness. Born December 9, 1953 in Geneva, New York, he was the son of Paul J. Starr and Marjorie Porter Owens. He worked at Friend Engineering and Machine Co. and was an avid hunter, especially squirrel.
Survivors include his wife of 17 months, Peggy Starr; two daughters and son-in-law, Lisa L. John Grubbs and Christina M. Starr, both Mansfield; five grandchildren, Kevin Starr, Kandace Starr, Kaila Grubbs, Marcus Drake, Chyanne Drake; his mother, Marjorie Owens of Mansfield; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Vickie and Bob Miller of Fredericktown, Tammy Good of Mansfield, and Nancy and Ivan Thompson of Greenfield, OH; five nieces Brandi McCoy, Melissa Garrison, Jessica Thompson, Tiffany Thompson, and Sebrina Thompson; three nephews, J.R. Garrison, Brandon Garrison, and Daniel Thompson; special and devoted best friends Gail Keeton and Jan and Penny Lybarger-Newark; mother-in-law, Peggy Stephens of Texas; three sisters-in-law, Lydia Jarrell of Mansfield, Patsy Dyer of Columbus, and Ann Lawhorn of Mansfield; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul J. Starr.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday October 7, 2004 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Copley officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
