
David N. Zucker, 44, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Monday, October 25, 2010. He was born on March 3, 1966 to Robert and Janet Louise Grindell Zucker of Ontario. He was a 1984 graduate of Ontario High School, where he excelled in track and cross country. Dave was an avid sports fanatic, with basketball being his favorite sport to watch. He loved to coach and watch his sons play sports. For the last 22 years, he spent his life in the plastic industry and for the last 18, Dave was a shift supervisor. Dave was highly respected by his peers for being a fair and hard-working supervisor. Dave spent 19 years at Carlisle Engineered Products in Crestline, and was last employed by Precision Automotive Plastics in Bellevue, Ohio. He attended Mansfield Baptist Temple regularly and was a member of First English Lutheran Church.
Dave is survived by his wife of 21 years, Michelle Pickens Zucker; sons, David and Tyler Zucker of Mansfield; father, Robert Zucker of Ontario; mother-in-law, Mattie Pickens of Mansfield; sisters, Heidi and Amanda Zucker of Mansfield, Kim Chuck Lynch of Florida; brothers, Brian Zucker of Mansfield and Shawn Zucker of Columbus; brothers-in-law, Jerry Dewitt of Mansfield and Mark Dewitt of Olive Hill, KY; niece and nephew, Shemar and Aaliyah Caldwell; and special family friend, Angie Correa. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Louise Zucker; and grandparents, Howard and Inez Zucker and Firman and Bernice Grindell. Dave loved spending time with his nephews, DeWayne and Stacy Lynch of Florida and his great-nephew, Parker Lynch of Florida. He also enjoyed the companionship of his two dogs, Gangster and Spike and riding his Harley.
Friends may visit from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Dr. Dale V. Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Dave was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend that will be greatly missed. Please plan to join the family to celebrate Dave's life.
