Dean Allen Hartsel Jr., 53, of Ashland passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Metrohealth Medical Center. Dean was born on November 16, 1965 in Ashland, Ohio. He was the son of Dean Allen Hartsel Sr. and Penelope (Martin) Hartsel.
Dean loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved playing poker online and would sometimes play in tournaments in Columbus. He loved to joke and laugh, and strived to put a smile on other people's faces as well. He was a huge fan of football, often cheering on his favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cleveland Indians.
He is survived by his son, Jason (Jessica Phillips) Hartsel; daughter, Autumn Sheldon of Florida; his father, Dean Hartsel Sr.; sister, Nancy Hartsel of Crestline; half sisters, Marcy Fenn and Heather Hartsel; and half brother, Scott (Heather) Hartsel. Dean was preceded in death by his mother; and his half brother, Sam.
The family will observe services at a later date. The Wappner Cremation Center is honored to serve the Hartsel family.
