Delbert R. "Chip" Stevens, 46, of Mansfield, died Thursday, October 30, 2008 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born January 15, 1962 in Mansfield, he was the son of Delbert Sr. and Norma E. Hammett Stevens. Delbert was a member of Caesarea Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sisters, Cecile Gary Smith of Lexington, Lynette Robert Keiser, and Lonette Kevin Cross, all of Mansfield; nieces and nephews, Michael Booker, Melissa Oxendale, Julie Booker, Scott Keiser, Brittani, Nicholas, and Nathan Cross; five great-nephews; and one great niece. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Nell Hammett; paternal grandmother, Edna Hartley; and great-nephew, Brayden.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2008 at Caesarea Cemetery conducted by Pastor Mike Workman. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Delbert Stevens.
