
Dennis N. Rinka, 70 of Mansfield, died Saturday morning, October 22, 2005 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. He was born March 31, 1935 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin living in this area the past 35 years. He was raised in Rhinelander, Wisconsin and graduated in 1953 from Rhinelander High School. Denny had retired from Bailey Drugs as a designer of independent drug stores. He was a member of the NRA, Richland Co. Gun Collectors, Ohio & Michigan Gun Collectors Association and International Ammunition Association. His hobby was collecting antique ammunition. He also enjoyed traveling the US at various gun shows where he bought, sold and traded antique ammunition. Spending time with his children and grandchildren was very important to him. He served in the U. S. Navy. Denny was a member of the Berean Baptist Church. Denny traveled yearly to Alaska where he loved to fish and enjoy the wildlife.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Hill-Rinka; a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Mark and Tina Rinka of Las Cruces, N.M.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marcie and Jason Wessels of San Diego, CA. and Linda and Darrin Carver of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Steven, John, Matthew and Esther Rinka, Michael Shock and David Carver; sister, Karen Janicek of Anchorage, Alaska; mother-in-law, Mary E. Schroff of Mansfield; two sisters-in-law, Joan Dan McCain of Chicago, IL. and Carol Swanigan of Mansfield. Denny was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00 pm before memorial services that will be conducted Thursday, October 27, 2005, at 1:00 pm at the Berean Baptist Church by Rev. David Pound. Memorial contributions may be made to the Berean Baptist Church or the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center. Local arrangements are in charge of the Wappner Funeral Directors. At Denny's request his cremains will be spread among the wildlife in Alaska, a place he so loved.
