Heaven was blessed with another angel on Thursday, November 30, 2017, when Dianne Lee Berrier, age 70, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord. She passed away at OSUCCC The James in Columbus, Ohio. She was born April 5, 1947, in Bedford, Ohio.
Dianne grew up in Mansfield and graduated from Madison High School. She was employed as a receptionist at Rupp Industries immediately after graduation. Being a homemaker became her full-time career when she married the love of her life, Gene Berrier, on May 31, 1969 and they began a treasured family. After her children were older, she started her career at Richland County Job and Family Services where she was a case worker. She retired after 25 years of service to her clients.
Dianne was devoted to her family, and helping others was of the utmost importance to her. She was selfless in giving her time and talents to benefit people. Dianne was most comfortable giving care than receiving the same. She loved her animals and found great peace in relaxing with them by her side. She was a member of Mayflower Congregational Church and was a partner in service of the Madison Township Lions Club where Gene is a member. In Dianne's free time, she enjoyed the beauty of nature by camping, walking on the beach and boating.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Gene Berrier; two sons, Jeff (Angela) Berrier and Chris (Monica) Berrier; two grandchildren, Layne and Mason Berrier; six step-grandchildren, Cameron, Emily, Ashley, Katelyn, EmmaLee and Spencer; and two sisters, Linda (Wes) Wagner and Cheryl Campbell. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edna May (Mitchell) and Donald Everett Needs; grandparents, Glenn and Beatrice Mitchell; and her beloved canine companion, Aubree.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service conducted by Dr. Richard Leo Rader will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Mayflower Congregational Church, 548 N. McElroy Road, Mansfield. She will be laid to rest in Windsor Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mayflower Congregational Church.
