
Donald E. Craig, Sr., 64, of 478 Stark Street died Sunday, December 14, 2003, at his home from a long illness. Donald was born in Ashland, Ohio, to Willard H. and Ruth Dilgard Craig on July 6, 1939. He worked at Wilbert Vault, Mansfield Memorial Park, and retired from Brown and Keller Construction Company in 1991 after 24 years of service. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on cars. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Donald is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and John Jones of Mansfield; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Richard Craig of Jamestown, Pennsylvania and Jerry and Jennifer Craig of Galion; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his ex-wife, Martha A. Craig, who was his caregiver for ten years; special friends, Bonnie Elkins and Billie Moore; and special nurse, Mary Huffer. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry; grandparents, Charles and Mina Dilgard and Frank and Daisy Craig; sister-in-law, Linda Craig; son, Donald Craig, Jr.; stepdaughter, Gloria Carver; and two grandchildren, Laria Carver and Peggy Jean Jones.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Vermillion Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Harold Nickels. Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday from 11:30-12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Vermillion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
